Are you an avid golfer? If so, do you like to take golfing vacations? Or, are you relatively new to the sport of golf and are looking for a great way to relax while enjoying the sport. If either of these situations sounds like you, continue reading this section for a few tips on planning a great golfing vacation.
The first thing you should do is decide where you want to go. While there are literally thousands of golf courses to play on, it can be very difficult to decide which one you should travel to. Therefore, you should look for two criteria. First, the golf course that you are considering should allow you to reserve a tee time. Second, the golf course should be near other facilities that your non golfing family members will enjoy. This way, you can play golf while the children or spouse can enjoy themselves as well.
Next, you should consider the weather conditions. While you will obviously focus on the weather for playing golf (not too hot, not too cold), you will also want to make sure the weather conditions are appropriate for your family members to enjoy their non golfing activities. As an example, you may not want to play golf at Disney World in July because your family won’t enjoy the amusement park rides due to the blistering weather. As another example, if you know that it tends to rain in the afternoon in Alabama, you aren’t going to want to be in a golf cart sitting in the rain (unless you have a golf cart rain cover to keep you dry).
Lastly, you should set up a “Plan B” in case your tee time falls through. Unfortunately, as much as we don’t want it to, this does happen way too often. Therefore, if you have an alternate course of action ready, your golfing vacation will not turn out bad if your first course of action falls through.
