What exactly is the reason behind your camping trip? To many campers, the sole purpose is to have fun – whether through playing games, relaxing and catching the refreshing air, or taking pleasure from the scenery. So once you have set-up your family tents, get ready with some fun activities that you, your friends, or your family will enjoy. Here are some camping activities to complete your outdoor adventure.
Hike. Bring some real adventure to your camping and go for a hike. You need not be extra exploratory and do a lengthier or rigorous hike as a light hike or walk around the campsite will do. If you are with your family, hiking will surely tire your kids and help them easily fall asleep at night. Hiking will allow you to discover and enjoy even more beautiful spots in your camping area.
Explore the waters. If your campsite is near water, you can go include some fun water activities to your camping agenda. White-water rafting will surely invigorate the adventurous spirit in you while kayaking or canoeing on a nearby lake will relax you. Teach your child to fish and let him learn a new sport. Just make sure you return to your campsite before nightfall as there may be difficulty finding the way back when it gets dark.
Board games + S’mores. This is one option to enjoy the night – play some board games while enjoying a delectable treat. Prepare some chocolate, marshmallow and graham crackers and you are sure to get a memorable camping experience. Play in your tent. Or, if you have something smaller like a 3 man dome tent, gather around the picnic table and bring out your favorite board games. Play UNO, or card games while indulging in a delightfully sweet dessert.
Storytelling. Sharing stories is a popular camping activity. Ghost stories and mysteries are among the favorite storytelling topics among campers. A good variation of storytelling activity for families is the story chain. A family member starts the story and allows another person to continue the plot; the story will be passed on to another person to continue until someone ends it. This will not only bond the family together, it will also stimulate the creative minds of the children.
Other camping activities you and your group can enjoy include star-gazing, biking, and cooking. Make your camping special by adding some memories through these activities. There are so many games to play, crafts to do, and stories to share so never limit your camping activities to what is traditional. Just remember to consider safety first and check that your camping activity area is a safe place to relax, have fun, and enjoy.
